Our History

The Kenyon's began their business in 1957 in the Hillman area. Robert J. Kenyon, Sr. started the business, doing most of the work himself out of his home, and only hiring help as needed. Phyllis Kenyon, his wife, did all of the payroll and accounting work. As the company grew and expanded, he became a full-time Contractor with several employees.


Over the next couple decades, under the leadership of Robert Kenyon, Sr., the company continued to grow and expand. The company became a corporation in 1978 and has continued its upward expansion since then. Kenyon Construction, Inc. currently has 10 full time office and field employees plus they also utilize part-time and many seasonal employees that are hired as needed.

In 1985 Robert Kenyon, Sr. retired and his son, Robert Kenyon, Jr., purchased the company and took over as President of the corporation. Since then Kenyon Construction, Inc. has continue to grow and expand, offering their clients a wider range of services including professionally engineered design and construction services.


In the mid 1980's as Kenyon Construction, Inc. continued to grow They outgrew their original office space and constructed a new office/warehouse facility in Hillman. This facility remains the corporation's main office and houses all of the accounting, payroll, and management personnel as well as warehousing the company's tools and equipment.

In 1996, Michael Prevo joined the Kenyon Construction Inc. staff as a Project Manager and has been with company ever since. In 2012, Michael became a Co-Owner in the corporation and became it's Vice-President. He is working with Robert Kenyon, Jr. to lead the company into the next generation of growth and prosperity.


Since 1957, Kenyon Construction Inc. has continued to grow and diversify over the years by changing the range of services they offer their clients as the economy and market has continued to change. They have evolved from a single individual working from the back of his pick-up truck to a fully staffed, fully bonded, general contracting firm that can offer their clients a complete design and construction package for any type of residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional project.
